Hello and welcome to my blog page!
My name is Birgit Arndt and I have been working intensively with Oracle databases for over 20 years. My training started with version 9i, but I have also worked with versions 7 and 8i. One of my first big tasks was the migration from version 7.3.4 to 9.2.0.8 – that was a while ago!
Over the years, I have carried out numerous database installations, including complex setups with Real Application Cluster (RAC) and Data Guard.
However, I have a particular interest in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). My journey started with the client/server application, followed by the Oracle Application Server (OAS), the Internet Application Server (IAS) and finally WebLogic, which is still the associated application server for OEM today.
I have installed and configured OEM several times for customers and carried out various update scenarios. I really enjoy trying out new features and setting up scenarios in the lab to understand the tool even better.
I always say: SYSMAN is my best friend.
That’s why I want to share my knowledge about OEM. I know from my own experience how difficult it can be to find helpful information.
I look forward to feedback and hope that my blog posts are helpful and cover interesting topics.
Have fun reading!
PS: And here is a page on the subject: What is Oracle Enterprise Manager?
